valentine dessert round-up with a new one thrown in, dolly gone wild!

These Hello Dolly's make the perfect sweet treat for Valentine's Day and are great to feed a crowd. I made these for a Super Bowl party this past weekend, but will save a few to surprise my kids. They can be made dairy free with coconut sweetened condensed milk and can also be modified by throwing in your favorite nuts or dried fruit. Who says you need to follow recipes anyway! Below are my favorite chocolate recipes that I have posted this past year. Any one of them would be a great surprise for your sweetheart. Click under the posts below to access recipes.

What you will need

  • 2 boxes gluten free graham cracker (these are my favorite)

  • 12 Tbs. unsalted butter

  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips (Enjoy life)

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

  • 1 cup fruit juice sweetened or unsweetened dried fruit (I used cranberries)

  • 2 1/2 cups coconut chips (Bob's Red Mill Unsweetened)

  • (1) 14 oz. can organic sweetened condensed milk

For the crust

  • In a food processor pulse graham crackers until you have a fine sand consistency

  • pour graham cracker crumbs in a bowl

  • melt butter and combine with graham crackers until fully coated

  • press mixture into a 14x10 jelly sheet pan

For the filling

  • after the jelly roll pan is lined with graham cracker crumbs, spread out chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, dried fruit, chopped nuts if desired and coconut flakes

  • slowly pour can of sweetened condensed milk over whole tray. I had no trouble covering with just 1 can, it should look like picture above

  • bake for 25 minutes in a 350F. oven

  • let set for 5 minutes, then cut ( I used a pastry cutter, which worked great) Cool completely before eating
